Local mobile marketing can be very powerful for your business if it is used correctly, but most people have no idea how to use it for the most profit. However the vast majority of businesses just aren’t using mobile marketing at all, and those that are typically are not using it effectively to increase their business.

Text messaging through SMS (Simply Message System to Cell phones), is a common method to reach people via mobile marketing. It is an extremely powerful method with a 91% instant read rate. A word of caution before you get all excited and start blasting text messages to just any one.

Most people still pay for their text messages. They may get a
limited number of text for free, but generally they can only receive a certain number of them and have to pay for the rest of them. Although more and more mobile providers are allowing unlimited texting and calling… Because of the texting fees, people don’t typically like to see direct marketing messages popping up on their mobile devices. This same problem arose when faxing first began and it took little time before strict laws and penalties were enacted to prevent companies from sending out unsolicited faxes of any kind.

It’s important to be subtle with your marketing approach. There

SMTP messaging is typically free, SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. It is used to access email in a clients device or email program. SMS messaging is usually at this point free. You

shaking hands The Two Best Marketing Sales Tips I know!What’s working? With all the high tech stuff, social networking, I phones, websites, what works best for me to get leads? The lowly and cheap post card generally beats out everything to get leads for me.

Yes my best lead generator is Ol’ Uncle Sam the USPS. You can even simply go to their website https://click2mail.com/ do a simple postcard (using great copy writing skills, upload your mailing list and pay the postage and a small printing fee (cheaper then the local copy shop) hit send and your done. After the first time you can literally do all this in a few minutes time. My last mailing a couple weeks ago took less the a half hour from concept to clicking mail.

If  there is any interest I’ll do a video on how easy this is to do. Let me hear your comments.

My second best sales producing tip is…

Face to face, toe to toe contact is by far the best way to close a sale every time. You just can’t beat it for long term lifetime relationship building. I can’t recall any long term client relationship I have that wasn’t first begun by meeting the person face to face the first time to close the deal with them.

Is it worth it? I mean it does take time and expense to travel to a distant town to actually meet, these days it’s so much cheaper to just text or email… I get it. However just by way of a real world example. Thirty-five years ago i meet with a show producer, actually it was arranged by a friend to be in the right place at the right time to meet the person. I had to drive 200 miles round trip, paid to get into the venue where the event was being held and pay my daily expenses. At the time I could hardly afford this type of expense, but I also new that it could be something… or then again maybe nothing. Thirty-five latter this chance “carefully orchestrated” meeting has meant well over $1,000,000.00 dollars to me in hard cash. This is just one, although my oldest client, of many such meetings.

How does SEO play a part in your business blog and bottom line profits?

Your blog is only valuable as a marketing tool if people see it and respond to it.

SEO, or search engine optimization is vital for the survival of your business, you must have good search engine ranking to be found. Being struck on page 20 of the search engine results, or page 3 or 4, just isn’t going to bring enough traffic to your online business efforts.

This is how a search engine finds you. When someone is looking for something they type into the search bar, what they feel are relevant terms. The search engine then spiders out and locates what it feels are the best matches for those search terms and in a ranking order lists the web sites that appear to be the most relevant to the terms.

So, how do you get a good placement in the search engines?

Well the simple answer would seem to be dumb luck! Actually however you can turn that “luck” in your favor by knowing some secrets about how search engines rank internet sites.

Number one, a search engine will often give a blog preference over a standard web page. The logic is that a blog will contain more information related to the search and yes your blog should. When people are searching for information on a subject, they are not necessarily shopping (although yes, sometimes they are, with credit card in hand.) more often however they are more apt to be looking for information about a certain subject. With that in mind you will want to have what are termed content rich blog pages. For example, if your blog is about NASCAR, you are going to want to be sure that your blog includes popular terms such as Busch series, Dale Earnhardt, NASCAR fan, NASCAR merchandise, Nascar racing, NASCAR sponsors, Tony Stewart, and of course the main keyword, NASCAR. These are just a few terms that came up in a search I just did, there are hundreds more.

Finding the right keywords is not as difficult as you may first think.

Put yourself in you potential customers mind and think of keywords that they would think of to search for information about your business, product or service. Write down everything you can think of, even ask a few customers, friends, family what they would look for.

Now, I’ll give you a little secret weapon to find tons of keywords that are relevant to your business.

Google is one of the top search engines on the planet. They also are very helpful with finding you targeted keywords, in hopes of selling you PPC (pay per click) through their Adwords program. That is another whole separate discussion we will get to someday. The big thing is they will help you find the relevant search terms you need.

Simply go to: http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com

This is provided by Google absolutely free. Take the terms you came up with as being relevant and type them in, per their instructions like magic in a matter of seconds you will have hundreds of suitable keywords to use in your blog. The end result is that the search engines generally will give you preference, (as long as you do have relevant information), in your blog over a pure sales type web site.

Now, this is not the total answer to getting a top ranking in the search engines, it is only a part, but an important part to the overall picture of getting high SEO placement in the search engines.

Just keep in mind the more relevant keywords you use in your blog the more traffic you will drive to your blog.

And, although it can rank your blog quickly, sometimes in a matter of hours or less, it can sometimes take time and patience to get it all right.

I was stumbling around on YouTube and saw this video. The idea has many applications for sales closing as well as those who do presentations. Joel Bauer turned me on to “transformational mechanisms”  and this is a great example of the use of a TM in your business. Watch then video then I’ll have a few concluding remarks.

I have seen these blocks before in toy stores, by thinking outside the block the idea can be adapted to most any business or situation where you need to hold attention while giving your benefits closing, by handing the block to them at the end it packs the retention factor so important today when people are hit with thousands of messages a day.

In just one click, your business blog becomes an incredible marketing tool that first off saves you money but also opens up untold opportunities and networking in your business.

Few marketing opportunities in business are as user friendly, flexible and useful in quickly giving your customers and clients up-to-date information as your blog..

Add in that your blog is about as low cost and low tech as you can get, puts it at the top of the list as an effective marketing tool for your business regardless of how small or large your company may be. Posting to your blog only takes literally a couple of minutes.

Having a blog gives you a competitive edge regardless of if your working in a corner of your bedroom or the hundredth floor office, with a view, at your international corporate headquarters.

Here are some advantages of using a blog in your business:

There are currently some 14 million blogs on the internet, with near 1,000,000 being added each day for an estimated 50 million daily blog readers. Just think for a moment the impact your business can have by having a blog that is read on a regular basis.

Information from a blog can travel quickly, I had a business mastermind member tell me he had a blog post showing in search engines in just 18 minutes, I have had blog post personally show in search results in just a couple hours time. The impact of all this is just incredible when you consider that it can take weeks, even months in some cases for a standard web site to show in search results if they ever do.

Another valuable perk with business blogging is opening up a line of direct communication with your prospects, clients and customers. A blog is a welcome response for many wanting to do business with you but who have questions about your product or service and would like some helpful information by you the “expert.” Questions from clients and customers not only keeps your business on the pulse of your business but also gives immediate feedback from your buyers and prospects who will tell you just what your they want, this can only produce bottom line profits for your business.

Plus, many of the questions asked and comments made on your blog can actually be used for your blogs content. Really what better way to build relationships and loyalty fans then by answering the very questions that your customers and clients are asking.

That brings me to another value of blogging. It’s amazing that your business through blogging can create a group of devoted followers, even a fan club of sorts, this is what happens in social networking sites like Facebook.com , Twitter, My space and others. One person tells another and they in turn tell others, next thing you have hundreds, thousands of fans of your blog. It’s interesting that in just a little over three weeks I went from zero to 286 friends and fans on Facebook, with very little effort on my part. The number of friends and fans continue to grow everyday and with each useful blog posting and have now begun to spill over to my other social networking sites like Twitter and Link-In.

Of course the more you submit your blog to directories and continue to post useful content, such as articles, like this one, to places like Hubpages, and Squidoo the quicker your visibility will become and the quicker of course you will begin to drive people to your blog and into your sales funnel. By now your hopefully convinced of the value of having a blog for your business or improving the one you already may have, but not using for its true potential. Maybe you are not sure how to set up an effective blog for your business. Truthfully about a year ago I was in the same boat, I did a lot of research and discovered a lot of information, frankly most of it was just hype, lots of it was just misinformation. 3 hands Is Business Blogging and Social Networking Here To Stay? This is a reprint of part one of three articles I wrote and published a while back. They are still timely. It seems I get more questions about using social networking and blogging for business then any other question.

As with most “fad” marketing tools I have a wait and see attitude and at the same time I usually will jump in and test the waters.

The biggest problem with social networking for business in places like Facebook, is that is not and never was designed to become a marketers soap box. It’s what it is, a place to be social with friends, family and other invited guests. Look at it this way, you wouldn’t be invited to a family gathering and in the middle of the party jump up and stay, “Hey, how about buying some of my stuff!” The same holds true in social networking. You might casually mention to Uncle Bob your selling cars now and he might say,”Hey, I’ve been looking at a new car.” You could then invite him to come and see you, maybe even give him a card and then on with the party. But to stand up and announce, “Hey everybody, You should buy a car from me today.”  is just not the way to be invited back to the party.

The same holds true on the social networking sites, they are to let people know whats going on in your world, sure you can work in mentions like, “I’m enjoying the beach today, while working on my new book, “Marketing Mindset.” or “FedEx just arrived, better get those new spring dresses unpacked for the sale Friday.”

My years as a press agent has trained me to be subtle with the “commercial” and to plant seeds along the way.

So here is part one of the article reprint:

There is absolutely no doubt about it, Blogging has taken off like a California wild fire. People of all walks are now creating Blogs expressing everything from inner feelings to political views to, well you name it and yes even to make money.

Basically, Blogs were first introduced as web logs that refer to a “server’s log file.” It was created when web logging hit the virtual airwaves.

Since the mid-1990s, web logging gradually has become a part of the virtual community making the Internet a viable source of greater information. As a business, it is no longer just enough to have a web site that tells and sells your business. People are reaching out for a more personal “touch” with you as a business. However, don’t panic!

Although you still need a web site and domain names, Blogging becomes another marketing tool for you to reach out to your customers and clients. Generally, Blogs are created for personal use. Like a journal, people can write their daily adventures, sentiments, and whatever ideas they want to express online. However they are prime places for you as a business owner to build your celebrity and become the “go to person” in your field. This is where the business Blogs have taken the limelight.

Ultimately business Blogs are, created to advertise the services or products of a certain web site or online, even offline business in order to increase sales. Moreover, business Blogs are also one way of promoting the company so that the other readers will know that a certain company exists.

By providing useful information with Blogs, entrepreneurs are able to establish a name in the virtual market through articles that can be very useful in the reader’s life, much like I’m doing here. So, if you are thinking of creating a blog, whether for business or for pleasure, you need to know some tips that could help you get through and make your blog one of the more interesting Blogs online.

Here’s how:

1. Know your audience Even if your blog is generally personal and it should be even on a business blog, it would be best to consider who your readers are. You have to think of something that would interest them, answer questions they have running through there minds. As Robert Collier, a well known advertising copyrighter, said, “Enter your customers conversation.” In other words, know what problems they are having and help them to solve them.

2. Pictures speaks a thousand words and more So, make your Blogging worth the browsing effort of your readers, put some pictures in it. Not necessarily meaning you have to place a picture of yourself. Any photographs will do. Funny ones, as long as it does not pose danger or insult to anyone who will be reading your blog, your products, your customers, vacations, special events, or even stock photo‘s that enhance the appearance of your blog.

3. Be constructive and beneficial even entertaining to your reader Although you’re free to write anything you want to tell the world, still, it would be better to create something that would be beneficial or entertaining to your readers. Not every blog entry needs or should be trying to simply sell something. After all, its information technology that you have there so better be inclined to provide information rather than sheer quirky entertainment.

4. Don’t try to be all to all with your blog Don’t get all highly technical and use twenty dollar words, unless your Blogging for rocket scientist. After all, it is not a science discourse or a debate that you are making, so stick to simple facts, easy “how to” information and short Blogs. Keep in mind that most people who use the Internet usually do more scanning than studying each site word for word. So, it’s better to come up with Blogs that will not bore your readers you’ll not gain any more credibility just because you have lengthy articles. Think the One Minute Manger not War and Peace.

5. Welcome feedback, questions and comments You can do this by placing interesting video or audio clips in your blog asking your readers what they think. You can even place an area for comments or for some feedbacks. In this way, you can get some impressions or reactions of other people. Who knows, you might even gain some friends just by making them feel at home at your blog site.

Of course inviting questions about your business gives your concern for them but even more importantly the questions give you future material to write on in your blog. Nothing is much more targeted then answering your readers questions and it makes your site sticky, another marketing tool, I’ll cover in a future article.

Indeed, Blogs are not created just for mere fun anymore. It also has its own purpose in the business world, it is a place where the smallest one person operation and the largest corporations can find common ground. If you’re a business owner no matter what size, you need to hop on the Blogging bandwagon.

I got some really good response to the last blog How To Get Search Engines To Notice You Quickly.

One of the questions I got, was “What is pinging?”
Well that’s a great question because a lot of bloggers don’t quite
understand the real value of pinging, I didn’t at first either. Although I mentioned briefly in the last article, I’ll cover it in more detail here. How it helps your blog, and what the best pinging
services are. After you’ve read this, you’ll know
exactly how to use pinging to make your blog more popular.

So just what is pinging?

When a blog is pinged, it essentially tells a web blog tracking
system that the blog has been updated. Thus, pinging is the
process of telling tracking services that a site has something of interest, hopefully something of value to the readers.

How does pinging work?

This then is how pinging works? A ping service scans regularly
blogs for updates, this is not the same as spiders who are searching for ranking purposes. Whenever there is a new update for a particular blog, that is reported back to the pinging service’s site. The difference is, a ping service only reports back on new blog posts, not general web site updates.

Why should I be pinging my blog?

Pinging is useful to your blog because it tells people that there is a new blog posting available. Those who are loyal followers of your blog will be able to see the ping and that should drive them to want to see your latest blog posting. Those who haven’t read your blog before will see the ping and perhaps discover it and find if useful to them, they may well think “hey, there’s a new blog I haven’t been to before, I think I’ll check it out”. Pinging helps to increase your traffic to your web sites blog page because it tells people when your blog is updated. Those who visit sites with pinging services will see this information in the form of a scroll on the left or right side, or top of the page. The scroll is usually in XML format and typically includes the title and URL of your blog, as well as the date and time of the update.

Why should my main web page be a blog?

When your main web page is setup as a blog page, using WordPress or one of the other popular blog creation sites, it will bring people right to your main page, otherwise it will only direct them to your blog page. That’s why I mentioned in the last article that I use Woodpress blog pages as my main website pages as it helps to bring people to my main site page.

Where can I set up pinging?

Now that you know a little more about pinging and why it is important to include in your business blogs. Who offers pinging?

The answer is, there are several pinging services available
which you can use to have your blog pinged. We’ll go over some of them right now. Weblogs.com is probably the most well-known pinging service.

Weblogs.com monitors sites for updates and then pings whenever there is an update to report. Virtually every blog software is available to use Weblogs.

Blo.gs, is another popular pinging service. and has a built-in integration with movable type and other tools. One neat thing about this service is that it offers the ability to give out updates via Instant Messaging services like AOL and ICQ. It is a direct pinging service, so those who sign up for subscriptions to your blog will be sent an email anytime your blog is updated.

These are just a couple of the many different blog pinging services
available. A quick search on Yahoo, Google or Bing will reveal many
other possible blog pinging services to use for your blog. It is
best to sign up for as many as you possibly can to ensure that
your blog is well-pinged. A well-pinged blog will definitely
help your blog attract more visitors. .
